Work Conditioning

Work Conditioning is a rehabilitation program that starts with a job goal or training program in mind. The client starts therapy on a three-five day-per-week, three to four-hour-per-day basis. Normal progression increases the duration from three to four, then to five days per week by the end of the program. The overall goal is to increase strength and stamina through the use of an extensive exercise routine. The treatment plan addresses specific parts of the job that are limited due to injury. Our staff works hard to simulate the aspects of the job that each individual needs to address.

Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs)

The Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs) objectively determine an individual's current physical capacity and ability to perform work tasks. These types of evaluations are useful to physicians, case managers, insurance adjusters, employers, and/or vocational counselors to determine if an injured worker is able to return to his pre-injury job. They are also useful in facilitating a timely closure of worker's compensation claims. The clinicians who administer our FCEs are experts in the field of FCE/ Work Conditioning and have extensive experience in performing these evaluations. Components of this test may include:

  • Musculoskeletal Screen
  • Isometric Strength Testing
  • Dynamic Strength Testing
  • Positional Tolerance Testing Job Simulation
  • Sub-maximal Cardiovascular Stress Test
